Packing List

This list is a suggested packing list for our three-day hiking and camping trip. Remember, only Day 1 dinner is included in this trip, all other meals should be packed and ready to prepare / eat at camp and on the trails!

Camping Gear

We'll be camping at Abol Bridge Campground.

At the Site

  • Tent 
  • Sleeping bag
  • Headlamp
  • Comfortable shoes
  • Trash bag (keep the site clean!)
  • Comfortable campsite outfit for 2 nights (Make sure you're prepared with warm clothes in case it gets cold overnight.)
  • Sunblock
  • Bugspray
  • Cooking/dining utensils
  • Toiletries

Optional Camp Stuff

  • Camp chair
  • Cooler
  • Portable battery pack (for charging phones, etc.)
  • Camera
  • Lantern
  • Sleeping pad
  • Hammock
  • Games

Hiking Gear

We'll be hiking on Day 2.

IN YOUR HIKING BACKPACK

  • At least 32oz. of water
  • Lunch & snacks
  • Layers
  • Extra socks

CLOTHING

Top:

  • Athletic/synthetic shirt
  • Insulation layer (a fleece jacket or light down jacket)
  • Shell layer (waterproof jacket)

Bottom:

  • Base layer pants or shorts
  • Athletic socks (bring extra)
  • Hiking boots or sneakers

Extras:

  • Sunblock
  • Bug spray
  • Hiking poles
  • Chapstick
  • Bandana
  • Camera

Food

We're into easy camp-food options. Check out dehydrated travel food if you're not a campfire chef. Just make sure you stay fueled-up!

Day 1:

  • BBQ dinner will be provided
  • Pack plenty of snacks and remember to refill your water!
  • Whatever campfire treats you enjoy; s'mores, beer, etc.

Day 2:

  • Bring your own breakfast to prepare at camp
  • Bring your own lunch and snacks to eat while hiking Katahdin
  • Bring your own dinner to prepare at camp

Day 3:

  • Bring your own breakfast to prepare at camp
  • Bring your own snacks or lunch to eat throughout the day
